Family Services Division

1.    Lobbying for a barrister-at-law to be assigned to deal with victims of child abuse by June 30, 2011.

2.    Start the preparation for the implementation of the Children (Care and Adoption) Act by March 2011.  Also, continue the discussions on the enacting of the other OECS Draft Family Legislation, including the Status of Children Legislation.

3.    In keeping with the UN Convention of the Rights and Protection of Persons with Disabilities, establish a special unit by December 31, 2011.

4.    Facilitate at least ten (10) parenting seminars and family therapy workshops to foster family empowerment by November 30, 2011.
