International Women’s Day 2014 was observed here under the theme “Inspiring Change”.
Here in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, the Department of Gender Affairs held a march and rally in Kingstown last week Friday, to observe the day.
In his Address, Minister of Gender Affairs, Frederick Stephenson, applauded women of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines who have made significant contributions to national development and have been agents of change in their communities. He also commended groups and organisations that have played a role in highlighting the cause of women here.
In delivering the Feature Address, former Parliamentarian and President of the Bar Association, Rene Baptist, stressed the vital role of women as agents of change in this country.
