Hon. Orando Brewster

The Simply Help Foundation and the Taiwanese Non-Profit Charity Organisation through the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines donated clothing, shoes, toys and bolts of cloth valued over EC $500,000.00 items to the Ministry of National Mobilisation.

The donations were delivered to vulnerable families across mainland Saint Vincent as well as to schools and programs that provide support to vulnerable families throughout the country. Six (6) handing over ceremonies were conducted on both the Windward and Leeward sides of the island in the month of February at the Georgetown Community Center, Biabou Learning Resource Center, Calliaqua Town Hall, Vermont Community Center, Barrouallie Learning Resource Center and the Rose Bank Community Center, to present the donations to the recipients.

1.   Approximately fifty (50) vulnerable families from each of the following constituencies were given items including clothing, shoes, and toys:
•    North Windward
•    North Central Windward
•    South Central Windward
•    South Windward
•    West St. George
•    East St. George
•    Marriaqua
•    East Kingstown
•    Central Kingstown
•    West Kingstown
•    South Leeward
•    Central Leeward
•    North Leeward

2.   Books and toys were donated to the following schools:
•    Georgetown Primary School
•    Calliaqua Anglican School
•    Calliaqua Preschool
•    Sunnyside Preschool
•    Layou VINSAVE Preschool
•    Unique Preschool
•    Solid Rock Preschool
•    St. Patrick Preschool
•    Happy Learners Preschool
•    Glebe Preschool
•    Little Heart Babysitting Adventure
•    Barrouallie Anglican School
•    Barrouallie Government School
•    Theodora McKenzie Preschool
•    Brother Bess Preschool

3.  The following institutes and departments received bolts of cloth for use in their skills training programs:
•    Georgetown Technical Institute
•    Georgetown Secondary School
•    Barrouallie Technical Institute
•    Petit Bordel Technical Institute
•    Adult and Continuing Education Department

4.  The following sports club received a donation of balls for use in their sports training:
•    Roses Academy, North Leeward

5.  The scrubs were distributed to Home Help Providers and Home Help Supervisors of the Home Help Program of the Ministry of National Mobilisation.
