Biography

The opening ceremony for CEBO Entrepreneurship Training Workshop was held on Monday 21st, October, 2019, at the Girl Guides Headquarters in Level Gardens.

The training sessions will run from 21st - 25th October, 2019, each day beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Remarks came from CARICOM Secretariat’s Directorate for Human and Social Development, Ms Michelle Small-Bartley, Mrs. Gweneth Anthony, Youth  Officer within the Ministry of National Mobilisation etc. and Permanent Secretary of National Mobilisation etc. Mrs. Nerissa Gittens-McMillan.

There are six countries where CEBO is being implemented. It is noted that unemployment quite high in the Caribbean. The aim of CEBO is to draw out the creative skills from within the youths.

It is said that the training will contribute to the overall safety of citizens. The training is described as intense and life changing. The participants were encouraged to "Let It Be The Birth Place Of Your Business Idea If You Have Not Done So."

"Use your skills, be innovative. What do the youths do with their energy?" The trainees were questioned by the Permanent Secretary. It was noted that there is a challenge in obtaining funds to start up a business. Also it was noted that the opportunity is not given to the young people.
The participants were further encouraged to have a comprehensive mindset for doing business, to improve the standard of living, to be one's own boss and to employ others among other things.


They were also encouraged to"Let Your Voice Be Heard Without Being Insolent."
