To promote the well-being and protection of families, advance gender equity, ensure the inclusion and rights of persons with disabilities, and strengthen labour systems through effective policies and partnerships.

The Ministry of National Mobilisation through the Child Development Division in collaboration with UNICEF is hosting a series of one -day training workshops in August on Children (Care and Adoption) Act 2010 and Child Abuse Protocols and reporting guidelines for mandated reporters.

The objective of the workshops is to build professional knowledge and skills to prevent and respond to child abuse and neglect thus enhancing the capacity of child protection professionals in the execution of their duties. The Ministry will be training 200 police officers including Gazetted Officers, Non Commission Officers (NCO), Police Constables, Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department, Out stations, Sexual Offenses Unit, DARE Officers and any other Police officers who work directly with children.

The workshops would be conducted during the period 5th August - 9th August, 2019, at the Girl Guides Headquarters. The training workshop will be a one-day workshop from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. for a maximum of 40 persons per session and will be completed over a one-week period.
