Biography

The Ministry of National Mobilisation, through the Child Development Unit, is holding a one day consultation with stakeholders from the National Commission on the Rights of the Child and other key players in National debate on the Draft Child Justice Bill.

At the discussion/debate, the first draft of the Child Justice Bill which has been prepared, provides the legislative framework for juvenile justice reform here in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.  The Ministry, which has the responsibility for its implementation, is desirous of having this Bill being passed into law before 2018 ends, thus the importance of the national debate so as to garner the requisite input of all key stakeholders at this stage before the document goes to parliament.

Monday’s consultation is taking place at the Fisheries Conference Room from 9:00a.m – 3:30p.m. There are thirty key stakeholders present at the consultation which is being chaired by Crown Counsels in the Ministry of Legal Affairs Mr. Kezron Walters and J’Lany Williams.
