The Youth Department in the Ministry of Social Development is preparing to embark on the second phase of a Behavioural Change Strategy Programme targeting Men.
The 'Men As Partners' (MAP) Project was started in 2008 to target men who have had no formal training or education on sexual reproductive health. The second phase will target men from three communities on the mainland.
Community and Public Outreach Officer in the Youth Department, Philcol Jeffers, said that the MAP Project reaches men at whatever level and location they are found, to empower them to change their behaviour.
Mr. Jeffers said that several communities are already showing interest in having the MAP project carried out in their area.
He said Phase two of the project will be funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The communities being targeted for Phase Two of the project are Rose-Bank, Dixon and South Rivers or Enhams.
