A series of programmes will be implemented by the Ministry of Social Development this year to carry forward the Juvenile Justice Reform System.
The programmes, which are being undertaken by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), target young people in the Eastern Caribbean, who have had to go through the Justice System.
Administrative Officer in the Ministry of social Development, Merissa Burke, said that one of their main aims this year is to increase the capacity of institutions which would address the issue of rehabilitation for youth who have been through the Justice System.
Mrs. Burke said that a number of consultations will be held to determine the effectiveness of progammes which are being created to re-integrate these young people into the society
She also said that they will also embark on a major reform programme for the Liberty Lodge Boys Training Centre.
