Saint Vincent and the Grenadines joins the rest of the world in observing an International Day to end violence against Women today, Friday, 25th November.  

Ms. Faustina Lewis, Project Field Officer at the Gender Affairs Division highlighted that there have been a lot of reported cases by women who have been abused.

Ms. Lewis said that men are the main perpetrators, and they have decided to try to reach them by working with them, to help to stop the violence against women.

According to Ms. Lewis, the reports of abuse have been overwhelming. She also highlighted the types of abuses some of these women encounter which include physical, verbal and sexual.

International Day to end violence against women is being observed under the theme “Working with Men and Boys.”
